A Simple "Thank You"

Dear Mr. James Baker
I’m glad I didn’t send it later
Sorry that it came to this
I didn’t one of your letters miss
But I regret to say
I have a habit of “lazy day”

For weeks and weeks on end
I detested to write and then send
A very plain “Thank You”
And a few hugs in return to you

Your prayers have meant a lot
For God has given me all I have got
Give Him all of the praise
My leg doesn’t any more pain raise

Your small quotes inserted
I feel I more or less deserted
I’m sorry only now
I began to write to show you how
Much your mail and funnies
Inside cards printed on with bunnies
Meant in times of trouble
When I was in the depths of rubble

Here I give my thanks
Here I give you back some hugs
Here I cross the banks
Of the LAZY River full of bugs
To now write back
With a poem, for which I have a knack

Love + Hugs,
