Life, A Race

"Life is a journey. a process. a race."
At times it takes an intensely fast pace.
You cannot keep up without end.
You cannot always stand and not bend.

Some day you will fall through.
What then will you do?
How will you ensure you do not,
When the friction of your grip gets hot?

Your strength cannot keep you
From the inevitable that pursues
This life that you lead
Will kill you if you don’t heed

Lean on Jesus, He will hold you up;
His happiness will fill your cup.
In the pursuit of a goal in life’s race,
Only He can help you keep the pace.

He will help you get to the end.
He will be the one to stop the bend.
He will fasten your grip when it gets hot.
He will ensure you fall through do not.
